Sparta July 4th Fireworks Planned To Make A 2021 Comeback

The Lake Mohawk annual tradition is on the Sparta Council's agenda for Tuesday, May 25, to approve its permit.

SPARTA, NJ - After many Fourth of July celebrations throughout New Jersey were sidelined in 2020 because of COVID-19, one of the most attended in the Northwestern region of the state is anticipated to return for 2021.

The Sparta Township Council’s agenda for their meeting on Tuesday lists a resolution to permit the Lake Mohawk Country Club’s fireworks display on Saturday July 3, from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The council’s agenda, which is subject to change, additionally builds in a rain date of July 4, for the company that will shoot off the fireworks for the Fourth of July celebration, Fireworks Extravaganza of Rochelle Park.

In 2020, there was a limit on outdoor gatherings due to the coronavirus, which caused a domino effect of cancellations of fireworks displays, parades and other Independence Day events.
