Sparta School Administrator Files Discrimination Lawsuit
Former transportation coordinator claims she was wrongfully fired so that she could be replaced by her younger assistant.

A former Sparta school district administrator is suing the school district and former Superintendent J. Thomas Morton for what she claims was age discrimination that led to her being wrongfully fired, New Jersey Herald reported.
June Williams, who worked as the district's transportation coordinator, was let go in October 2011 and replaced by Marcy Decker, a younger woman who previously served as her assistant, according to the Herald. In the lawsuit, filed by Sparta attorney George Daggett on behalf of Williams, Williams claims Morton flirted with Decker for several years before working together with then-Business Administrator Warren Ceurvels to have her fired.Â
Ceurvels is also being sued by Williams, the Herald reported.
Williams is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and the case is still in the discovery phase.Â
