Enjoy the 60-degree temperatures on Friday, even as rain falls in the area. More bad weather is expected to hit New Jersey this weekend and next week.

As many as two to three inches of rain could fall in New Jersey on Friday and Saturday, and much of it could lead to slick road conditions since temperatures are supposed to drop by more than 20 degrees by Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service. A hazardous weather outlook has been issued throughout the rest of New Jersey, saying the region should expect steady rain on Friday and Saturday. The National Weather Service alert also noted that some accumulating snow is possible Tuesday into Wednesday.

Some New Jersey communities even alerted their residents to the possibility of flooding because of heavy rains on Friday and Saturday.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports said the expected heavy rainfall could lead to flooding on many streets, and those "should be avoided."

"Because motorists can become stranded by driving through flooded streets and high water, drivers are asked to avoid these locations and to use alternative routes," he said.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s and 30s on Saturday night, which could lead to more road freezing, according to the National Weather Service.

Following that, a snow clipper system could drop snow in the areas beginning Monday night and last into Tuesday morning.
