21-Year-Old Jersey City Man Shot And Killed On Wilkinson Avenue

Another man was also shot but suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Jersey City Medical Center.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 21-year-old man died in a shooting on Tuesday night on Wilkinson Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive. The man was identified as Rodney Wallace, 21 of Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Jersey City police received a call just after 11 p.m. of shots fired on Wilkinson Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Wallace with gunshot wounds to his upper body and rushed him to Jersey City Medical Center, according to the prosecutor's office.

Wallace was pronounced dead in the hospital at 11:44 p.m. The cause of death has not been released yet by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

Another man, 22, was shot as well, but suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, according to the prosecutor's office.

No arrests were made but police and the prosecutor's office are still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip.
