Jersey City's Incoming Whole Foods Could Sell Wine and Beer

As if the news that a Whole Foods was coming to Jersey City wasn't good enough, the good news just keeps coming. The planned Harborside location was approved for a liquor license renewal. That's right, Whole Foods in Jersey City could be selling wine, beer and liquor.

Jersey City Council Gives First OK To $620M Budget

A resolution to introduce the $620 million municipal budget was unanimously approved by the Jersey City Municipal Council at Wednesday night's meeting, but not without some questions from councilors. The proposed budget would come with a $967 annual tax decrease per household and is backed and helped by $69 million the city received from the American Rescue Plan.

New Details On Cost Of Jersey City Pompidou Center

The City Council started what is sure to be a long journey analyzing the costs and benefits of the proposed Centre Pompidou x Jersey City — the first North American museum outpost for the Pompidou Center in Paris.

Off-Duty Jersey City Officer Beaten Unconscious

An off-duty Jersey City police officer was beaten unconscious Sunday morning by a group of about 10 men. The 42-year-old officer was found injured on Grove Street and Newark Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. City officials said that the officer was bleeding from his head and face. According to officials, the man was beaten unconscious by a group of 10 people who yelled racial epithets at him.

New Hair Salon Opens On Jersey City's Newark Avenue

A new hair salon made their first clip on Sunday in Jersey City — of the grand opening ribbon that is. Atraxion opened on Sunday on Newark Avenue. Mayor Steven Fulop and Jersey City officials were part of the grand opening ceremony and cut the ceremonial ribbon alongside owner Yorgelina Pepin.
