Everything To Know About COVID-19 Vaccines In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ — COVID-19 vaccinations are quickly expanding in New Jersey and Jersey City is opening appointments to get as many residents vaccinated as possible.

As of April 19, anyone aged 16 and over will be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in New Jersey. Jersey City has 10 vaccination sites scattered throughout the city along with a hotline dedicated to scheduling appointments — the hotline operates seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Who is eligible?

All New Jersey residents aged 16 will be eligible for the vaccine starting April 19. The state is making all vaccines available to residents: Moderna and Pfizer — the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has been paused due to blood-clot concerns.

Jersey City has experienced over 26,000 positive cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic and over 700 reported deaths.

Gov. Murphy announced his goal is to have 4.7 million adults in New Jersey fully vaccinated by June 30. As of April 7, 1.8 million adults were fully vaccinated in the state.

Jersey City has 1o vaccination sites within the city and two other sites in Kearny that accept Jersey City residents, all listed on the city website.
