JERSEY CITY, NJ — Fourth of July in Jersey City isn't just about the fireworks — Mayor Steven Fulop announced on Thursday that the city is partnering with the Jersey City Night Market to offer day-long festivities, topped off with the fireworks show at night.

Jersey City’s fireworks will be launching from barges in the Hudson River with a larger viewing area this year. Spectators can watch the fireworks show along the Hudson River Walkway, from the north field at Liberty State Park, and most overlook areas in The Heights.

“As host of one of the biggest Fourth of July events in the region, we look forward to putting on one of the best celebrations yet again this year, with fireworks launching from two barges in the Hudson River,” said Mayor Fulop. “With Jersey City Night Market providing dayside food and entertainment, residents and visitors can enjoy a day of festivities as we celebrate our nation’s independence coupled with a sense of normalcy following a year of lockdowns worldwide.”
