Heat Advisory Issued In Jersey City, Hudson County

A heat advisory was issued until 8 p.m. for several counties, including Hudson County.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — This weekend's heat wave isn't done with Jersey City just yet — a heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for Hudson County and several surrounding counties in New Jersey on Monday.

A heat advisory was issued until 8 p.m. due to the hot temperatures and high humidity which may cause heat illnesses.

According to the National Weather Service, "A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time."

Seniors and anyone with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are considered at increased risk. Residents are urged to stay in a cool place and avoid exhaustive work outdoors.
