Heatwave: Jersey City Library Cancels Outdoor Activities
The heat advisory has pushed the library to cancel its outdoor activities for the next few days.

JERSEY CITY, NJ —As temperatures remain in the 90s, the heatwave hasn't budged in Jersey City and a heat advisory is affecting activities at the library.
The Jersey City Free Public Library announced on Tuesday that all outdoor programs would be canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday, due to the heat advisory. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. on Tuesday through 8 p.m. on Wednesday
The highest temperatures and heat indices are expected between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. each afternoon. The National Weather Service suggests using an air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place that has air conditioning. Check on vulnerable friends, family members and neighbors.

Jersey City has several cooling centers and locations where residents can escape the heat and stay safe and cool.
Temperature are forecasted to drop a bit on Thursday into the 70s and 80s, offering some relief from the weekend's extreme heat that bled into the week.
