Hudson County Honors Memorial Day With Jersey City Ceremony
A small ceremony was held at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County officials took time on Thursday to start Memorial Day events early with a ceremony in Jersey City.
This year's Memorial Day Commemoration ceremony was held at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. Police led a car procession to the cemetery where officials held a flag raising. The Hudson County Executive's Office tweeted, "This weekend we all remember those who gave their lives in the defense of our country."
Memorial Day this year in Jersey City will also be celebrated through the library at noon on Memorial Day. Master Sergeant Jonathan V. Taylor and JCFPL'S Mr. Issac Green will pay tribute and honor to the military men and women who lost their lives in service. Master Sergeant Jonathan V. Taylor is the Wing Integrated Resilience Manager, assigned to the 552 Air Control Wing, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He provides integrated resilience training for over 4800 personnel wing-wide and covers three geographically separated units in Idaho, Utah, and Texas. The event can be live-streamed on Facebook.
