I Heart Mac & Cheese Restaurant Coming To Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Macaroni and cheese lovers rejoice, a restaurant just for you is coming to Jersey City.

I Heart Mac & Cheese specializes in "build-your-own" macaroni and cheese bowls and grilled cheese sandwiches.

The chain announced Tuesday that two restaurants will open in Hudson County, its first in New Jersey. The Jersey City location will open in 2021. The Hoboken location will open next year. Exact addresses were not specified.

I Heart Mac & Cheese patrons select a pasta, bread, quinoa, broccoli, or cauliflower base, along with seven different proteins, vegetables, and cheeses. Chains also feature a vegan menu, and gluten-free selections.

Vikram Bir will manage and run the restaurants. He owns and runs two 7-Eleven locations in Hamburg and Sparta.

"I'm excited to expand the diversify my franchise portfolio with the addition of my two I Heart Mac & Cheese locations in New Jersey," Bir said. "I really love the support system that the franchising industry offers, and I've always had a strong desire to open a restaurant concept."

The first I Heart Mac & Cheese opened in Florida in 2016. Additional location are slated to open in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New York, and Texas.
