Jersey City Footballer Gets His Shot With The NY Giants: Report
Jon Hilliman, a St. Peter's Prep alumnus, was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jon Hilliman is finally getting his shot.
The St. Peter's Prep alumnus has been elevated from the New York Giants' practice squad to the team's active roster, according to a report on NorthJersey.com. He was elevated because running back Wayne Gallman is expected to take over for starter Saquon Barkley, who suffered a high ankle sprain.
"It's the story of my career, really, starting out as the underdog, and that's fine by me," Hilliman said in the report. "It's what you do when you get the chance that matters."

Hilliman was the first 2,000-yard rusher in St. Peter's history his senior season, and helped lead the team to a group state championship game against Paramus Catholic at MetLife Stadium, but they lost, according to the report.
Giants coach Pat Shurmur said in the report that Hilliman is on the team because the Giants feel like "he's got a chance to be a good player."
