Jersey City High School Senior Designs New Fire Department Decal

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Take a closer look at the Jersey City fire trucks next time they drive past — you might notice something different.
The fire department decal got a makeover, thanks to a graduating senior from Ferris High School. Chrissalina Colon, a 19-year-old senior from Ferris High School, designed the new decals for the department. She was the winner of the decal contest sponsored by the Jersey City Board of Education and Fire Department.
The contest and new decal commemorated the department's 150th anniversary. The bottom of the decal reads "150th Anniversary" with an illustration of firefighters and the American flag above it. Colon designed the decal in her Fine Arts and Digital Media class at Ferris High School. Before Colon graduated from high school, which will happen on Friday, she attended classes at Hudson County Community College and earned her Associates Degree
