Jersey City Man Found Dead In Trunk Of Car: Prosecutor

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man was found dead in the truck of a car in Bayonne Saturday night, authorities said.

Bayonne police officers found a man, later identified as Michael Rumberger, 34, of Jersey City, dead in the trunk of a Lincoln Town Car at 9:55 p.m. at 17th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Rumberger was found to have "trauma to his head," and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11 p.m., Suarez said. The manner and cause of death are pending an investigation by the Hudson County Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide nit and the Bayonne Police Department are investigating. No arrests were made as of press time.
