Jersey City Man Identified In Overnight Fatal Shooting

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The victim in last night's fatal shooting on Martin Luther King Drive was identified by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Ahmad McPherson, 22, was shot and killed on Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive just after 10 p.m. Police were called to the area for a report of shots fired and found McPherson with gunshot wounds to the torso.

Police are still looking for the person who shot McPherson — no arrests have been made.

He was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Hudson County Prosecutor’s official website.
