Jersey City Man Pleads Guilty To Role In Bank Robbery

The man served as the lookout during a robbery in Union City in November 2019.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man admitted and plead guilty to his role in a November bank robbery in Union City.

The 21-year-old Jersey City man pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. According to the Department of Justice, the man acted as a lookout during the bank robbery on Nov. 5 2019. While the man kept lookout, the accomplices entered the bank and handed a note to a bank teller demanding money, according to the DOJ.

About $10,200 was stolen and split among the group.

The bank robbery charge carries a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 26, 2021.
