Jersey City Man Wanted In Connection With June 5 Fatal Shooting

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County and Jersey City police are looking for a man charged with the murder of 22-year-old Ahmad McPherson, who was fatally shot on Stegman Street off of Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City on June 5.

Tybear Miles, 25, of Jersey City, is facing several charges including murder and weapons possession.

Anyone who sees Miles should not approach him, but should immediately contact police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Prosecutor’s Office official website.

On June 5, police were called to Stegman Street for a report of shots fired and found McPherson with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the torso and the manner of death to be homicide.
