Jersey City Named Second Most Diverse City in America: Report
Jersey City was second to Houston, Texas in a Wallet Hub report ranking the most diverse cities in America.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City took the second spot on Wallet Hub's report of the most diverse cities in America. Jersey City was second to Houston, Texas and New York City trailed in third. The report was based five major diversity categories: socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious.
According to Wallet Hub, Jersey City ranked second overall but took the top spot for cultural diversity among the 501 cities sampled. Jersey City also ranked 25th in socioeconomic diversity, 383rd in economic diversity, 164th in household diversity and 257th in religious diversity.
In the mid-size city category, Jersey City was in first place. According to U.S. Census data from 2019, Jersey City has a population of over 262,000.

Jersey City took second place in the ranking of linguistic diversity as well as racial and ethnic diversity, according to Wallet Hub.
Wallet Hub compared 501 of the most populated cities by limiting each state to no more than 10 cities each, and comparing the five major diversity categories. More information on Wallet Hub's methodology can be found online.
