Jersey City Opens Apps For Arts and Culture Trust Fund Committee
The committee will consist of seven members.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The city started accepting applications for the Arts and Culture Trust Fund Committee.
The seven-person committee was approved by the City Council in May. The ordinance was brought to the City Council after voters in November approved an Arts and Culture Trust Fund to create funding sources for artists and arts organizations in the city. The fund is the first municipal fun in the state and is expected to generate $1 million annually in critical long-term funding for Jersey City's arts community.
The city has been making a concerted effort to prioritize the arts, promoting the first mural arts festival that brought street artists from around the country and all over Jersey City together. The city also just announced that it will be home to the first North American museum outpost for the Pompidou Center in Paris. The city has also invested $72 million in the renovation of the Lowes theater.
