Jersey City Teacher Goes On Vulgar Rant During Zoom Class

A Dickinson High School teacher cursed at students during a rant that started with climate change and devolved to Black Lives Matter.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Dickinson High School teacher was temporarily removed from teaching after he went on a vulgar rant directed towards students during a Zoom class.

According to NBC News, Howard Zlotkin was teaching a high school class when a discussion about climate change devolved into his views on Black Lives Matter and George Floyd — the rant was riddled with expletives aimed at the students.

"I hear people whining and crying about Black Lives Matter, but George Floyd was a f-----g criminal and he got arrested and he got killed because he wouldn't comply and the bottom line is we make him a f-----g hero," Zlotkin says in a recording, according to the outlet.

"The language was inappropriate and unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the district. It has been referred to our legal counsel for full review and appropriate action. The teacher is currently removed from the class and from contact with any and all students. Counseling has been made available for students in the class."

Other officials spoke out about the rant, including New Jersey Assemblywoman Angela McKnight, who called for Zlotkin to be fired.

"I was disheartened to see the video of a teacher in one of our Jersey City public schools verbally attacking Black students and making insensitive accusations and judgements about George Floyd. I have been informed that the teacher has been suspended but I am calling for him to be fired. This type of attitude can not be tolerated in our school system."
