Jersey City Woman Charged In May 3 Fatal Shooting
A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Garcia, was shot and killed on Princeton Avenue on May 3.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 21-year-old Jersey City woman was charged with the murder of 23-year-old Emmanuel Garcia, who was shot on Princeton Avenue and Brown Place on May 3.
Shianne Payne-Nanton was charged with murder in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree, possession of a weapon in the second degree and unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Payne-Nanton was arrested during a traffic stop on Thursday and was arrested by HCPO Homicide Unit detectives.

The shooting happened on Princeton Avenue and Brown Place on May 3. Garcia had several gunshot wounds and was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds of the torso and left upper extremity and the manner of death to be homicide.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow.
