NY Man Charged With Luring, Sexually Assaulting Jersey City Girl

A 21-year-old Long Island man was charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old Jersey City girl he met on social media.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Long Island man was arrested and charged with luring and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old Jersey City girl.

Cecilio Viera-Viera, 21 of Freeport, NY, met the 12-year-old Jersey City girl on social media, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

He lured her through conversations and interactions, to meet him in person on June 4 in Jersey City. Once they met, Viera-Viera lured the girl into his car and sexually assaulted her, according to the HCPO.

Viera-Viera was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault by Contact, Luring and Enticing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was arrested in his home in Freeport on Wednesday.
