JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County's only Patel Brother's grocery store could be looking at a big expansion if approved at Tuesday's Jersey City Planning Board meeting.

An application was submitted to the city for a site expansion of the 781 Newark Avenue store — the application asks to add two more lots to the store's property space, making the proposed final product a 10,000 square foot store.

The development would happen in phases, so as not to completely disrupt the shoppers who frequent Jersey City’s India Square business district. The first part of the new store would be constructed next to the existing store and once that is done, the new store would be demolished and built back up, new.
