Pools Around Jersey City: Where To Swim This Summer

With summer just around the corner, you may be looking for a place around Jersey City to take a swim. We've got you covered.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Summer is just around the corner, and you may be planning now to find activities to keep the kids busy — and cool. An obvious summer favorite pastime is spending those hot afternoons at the local pool.

The state recently issued guidance for pools to follow, so they can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.

So where near Jersey City can you take a dip? We've compiled this guide of local pools to help you and your family stay cool this summer.

  • Lafayette Aquatics Center: 303 Van Horne St.
    • This is a public pool for Jersey City residents only. Anyone over 18 has to show current photo ID & proof of residency before entering the facility.
    • Main Pool goes from 3.5 feet to 9 feet. Kiddie Pool goes from 0 feet to 3.5 feet.
  • Pavonia/Marion Municipal Pool: 914 Pavonia Ave.
    • This is a public pool for Jersey City residents only. Anyone over 18 has to show current photo ID & proof of residency before entering the facility.
    • Main Pool goes from 3.5 feet to 9 feet. Kiddie Pool goes from 0 feet to 3.5 feet.
  • Pershing Field Pool: 201 Central Ave
    • Pershing Field Pool is located in Pershing Field Park. It is an indoor pool starting at 3.5 feet to 12 feet deep. It is a 6-lane pool, 25 meters (1 lap) distance. A small parking lot is available. Photo ID and proof of residency are required by all adult nonmembers
