Teen Arrested In Connection With Wilkinson Avenue Shooting

The teen was charged as a juvenile with murder in the first degree, among other things.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A teenager was arrested in Jersey City in connection with a fatal shooting on Wilkinson Avenue in Jersey City on April 13.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday that a 16-year-old was arrested inside a store at 245 Old Bergen Road in Jersey City on Thursday by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Intelligence/Violent Crimes Unit. The teen was charged as a juvenile with murder in the first degree, among other things.

On April 13, police were called to Wilkinson Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found Wallace with gunshot wounds to his upper body and rushed him to Jersey City Medical Center, according to the prosecutor's office.

Wallace was pronounced dead in the hospital at 11:44 p.m.

Another man, 22, was shot as well, but suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, according to the prosecutor's office.
