A career accelerator program, record festival and virtual Friday events are all happening this weekend.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — It's impossible to be bored in Jersey City and this weekend is not different.

There are plenty of virtual and in-person events happening throughout the weekend of June 3, here are a few to get you started!

Year Up New Jersey

Year Up is a one-year career accelerator program empowering young adults (age 18-26) to enter a Technology or Business career. Year Up at HCCC provides young adults with six months of paid professional development and specialized career technical training. This instruction prepares students for the second phase of the program: a six-month paid full-time internship at one of Year Up’s many corporate partners, which include: Bank of America, Google, J.P Morgan, Spotify, and Facebook. Year Up’s mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by ensuring that young adults gain skills, experiences, and support to empower them to reach their potential through both career development and higher education.

How To Learn How To Build Professional Relationships

This program will go over important factors that help your career when you build professional relationships. You'll learn important strategies for networking and building better professional relationships.

On Friday, June 4, Virtual JC Fridays will take place on Zoom! All participating venues will come together in one online event showcasing the Jersey City arts community, hosted by Art House Productions. This event will have ASL Interpreters and Closed Captions.

Jersey City Record Riots

Don’t miss the crazy OUTDOOR vinyl action! Show hours: 10 AM-6 PM. FREE ADMISSION! Over 40 tables of LPs, CDs, DVDs, 45s, memorabilia and who knows what else. Dealers from all over the NYC area, including the Iris Records gang, Joey Barbosa, and John Bastone (“Jangle-Time”) too. Live DJs all day long. Always a large, fun, musically-intelligent crowd. Hope to see you at the show! Maybe COVID-safe digging in the crates!
