Where Around Jersey City Can Kids Get COVID-19 Vaccinations?
Children 12 and older are now eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, with a parent accompanying them. But not all sites have Pfizer doses.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Children 12 and older are now eligible for Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine, with a parent accompanying them. But it's not available at every vaccination site.
But there are several locations in Jersey City where parents and guardians can bring their children to get vaccinated against the virus.
The Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use authorization May 10 for Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children 12-15. Currently, only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for anyone younger than 18.

Children are less likely than adults to experience severe symptoms or death from COVID-19. But a growing body of evidence suggests that the vaccines may make people less likely to transmit the virus to others, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
Upon the approval, Gov. Phil Murphy said children may be able to get vaccinated through the following way:

- through partnerships with schools
- pediatricians
- local pharmacies
- at mega-sites
- using the state's COVID-19 mega-sites to bring doses directly to the communities where the children live

Many New Jersey universities made full vaccination against COVID-19 a requirement for students returning to campus in fall. But no state currently requires students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
