Emergency Repairs On Quakerbridge Road Bridge Begin Monday
The bridge is structurally deficient, county officials said. Work in Lawrence near the West Windsor border begins June 17.
Emergency repairs will take place on the Quakerbridge Road Bridge over Amtrak in Lawrence Township near the border with West Windsor just north of the Village Road West intersection beginning Monday, June 17, police announced on Thursday.
The bridge deck has been deemed structurally deficient, according to Mercer County officials. Parts of the deck, headers, deck joints, approaches and both sidewalks need to be repaired immediately, officials said.
During work, one lane of the road will be closed in each direction. One lane of traffic will be maintained on a 24/7 basis for two weeks, weather permitting. Sidewalks over the bridge will be closed for repairs in each direction.

The project is expected to last 15 days, weather permitting. Underground Utilities will perform the project. Drivers should expect significant delays, especially during rush hour. Drivers should seek alternate routes, if possible.
