Emergency Repairs On Quakerbridge Road Bridge Delayed 1 Week

Work that was to begin on June 17 will now begin June 24, police said Monday night.

Emergency repairs on the Quakerbridge Road Bridge that were slated to begin on Monday have been delayed one week. Work on the Quakerbridge Road Bridge over Amtrak in Lawrence Township near the border with West Windsor just north of the Village Road West intersection will now begin on Monday, June 24, police said Monday night.

The bridge deck has been deemed structurally deficient, according to Mercer County officials. Parts of the deck, headers, deck joints, approaches and both sidewalks need to be repaired immediately, officials said.

During work, one lane of the road will be closed in each direction. One lane of traffic will be maintained on a 24/7 basis for two weeks, weather permitting. Sidewalks over the bridge will be closed for repairs in each direction.
