LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Lawrence Square Boulevard is closed in the area of Joyner Court due to a gas leak, Lawrence Township police announced just after noon on Friday. PSE&G is on the scene.

A car struck Building 8 of Joyner Court in Lawrence Square Village at about 10:13 a.m., according to police. A gas meter was damaged in the crash, leading to a leak inside the building, police said. All residents were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The residents of the surrounding buildings were told to shelter-in-place, police said. They have not been evacuated at this time. The Lawrence Township Police Department and Lawrence Township Fire Department and Emergency Services are on scene assisting with the incident.
