Lawrence Celebrates Black History Month With Art Competition
An art and written word competition is being held to celebrate Black History Month. The competition is open to all.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Lawrence Township is organizing an essay and art competition to celebrate Black History Month.
This competition is open to elementary, middle, high school students and adults.
Participants can either submit an artwork or write something.

The idea is to be creative - write an essay or a poem, create a poster, painting or drawing to share.
They can pick a local, national or global black leader who inspired them.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from Lawrence Township departments and committees.
All artwork entries can be dropped off at Lawrence Township Municipal Building, Monday-Friday between 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Call the department when you arrive at 609- 844-7064. Someone will come out and pick it up.
The written entries can be emailed to recreation@lawrencetwp.com.
Submit your entry before 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22.
Winners will be announced on Feb. 26.
