Lawrence Hopewell Trail Hosts Fourth Annual Trail And Treat Ride

The Halloween-themed ride is set for Sunday, Oct. 21, at Village Park.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Lawrence Hopewell Trail will host its fourth annual Halloween-themed Trail and Treat Ride on Sunday, Oct. 21, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Village Park in Lawrence Township.

Children aged 12 and under and their families are invited to wear Halloween costumes, decorate their bikes, participate in treat bike rides and enjoy live music by the Princeton children’s band, School of Rock. Other activities will include face painting, treats, and trick-or-treat goody bags.

“Children six and older are invited on a mile-long ride, with a shorter, approximately quarter-mile, loop for younger children,” Lawrence Hopewell Trail Programming and PR Committee Co-chair Jill Young said.

“We will offer a variety of Halloween-themed activities including Halloween crafts,” Lawrence Hopewell Trail Programming and PR Committee Co-chair Lindsey Bohra said.

Participants should gather at Village Park at the Bergen Street entrance/parking lot starting at 3 p.m. Parents with bicycle trailers are welcome, and parent supervision is required. Walking, scootering, roller skating, and stroller participants also welcome.

The fee for this event is $5 per child two and older. Children under two are free. Parents are encouraged to pre-register their children online by visiting https://Lhtrail.org/TrailandTreat18. Onsite registration will also be possible, space permitting.

“From its inception, the Lawrence Hopewell Trail has been dedicated to providing a safe and family-friendly trail for our community,” Lawrence Hopewell Trail Board Member and event organizer Jennifer Peck-Nolte said. “In keeping with our commitment to safety, we remind parents that state law requires children riding bikes to wear helmets.”
