Lawrence Nonprofit Gets Grant To Assist Domestic Violence Victims

Womanspace was awarded $20,000 from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund to support victims of domestic violence.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A local organization was recently awarded a grant from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund to support victims of domestic violence.

Lawrenceville-based Womanspace was awarded $20,000 from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund.

The amount will go towards supporting victims of domestic violence in the region.

“These funds are intended to address the critical needs of New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents, whose health and livelihood continues to be threatened by the pandemic,” the organization said in a media release.

“We are very pleased to have backing from generous organizations such as the NJPRF who support Womanspace’s mission.”

Founded in 1977, Womanspace provides emergency and follow-up services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.

The organization serves the greater Mercer County area and the state of New Jersey.

Their programs and services include 24/7 crisis intervention, safe, short-term emergency shelter, short and long-term transitional housing, individual counseling and therapeutic support groups for adults and children, court advocacy.
