Lawrence Township To Host Drive-Thru Tree Lighting Ceremony
The in-person tree lighting ceremony has been canceled this year due to growing COVID cases.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Due to the growing number of coronavirus cases statewide and in town, Lawrence Township has cancelled this year’s in-person tree lighting ceremony.
Instead, the town has organized a drive-thru “Deck The Town Hall” ceremony, with the help of the police department, the public works department and the fire department.
The event will be held on Dec. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 2207 Lawrence Road.

The town will also have additional light displays, goodie bags for the children (while supplies last) and Santa.
Residents are required to stay in their car at all times during the drive-thru.

The Lawrence Township Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 209, will be collecting unwrapped, new toys during the drive-thru that will be donated to a local charity.
