Lawrence Township Schools Closed On Wednesday

Schools will be closed due to inclement weather.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Lawrence Township Public School District posted the following message on its website Tuesday night, March 20:

"Due to the forecast inclement weather, Lawrence Township Public Schools are closed Wednesday, March 21, 2018. In light of the forecast nor’easter, plans for make-up days for school closures are outlined below. Without knowing the scope of the storm, possible power outages, downed trees, and other factors impacting school status, it’s impossible to know at this point exactly how many days we may be closed.

"Spring Recess will not be used to make up days. The forecast storm and its impact on school status are too close to the beginning of Spring Recess to use those dates to make up for school closures. Make-up days will be added to the calendar in June.

"The Board of Education (BOE) will need to vote on a revised school calendar at a BOE meeting. Their next regularly scheduled meeting is April 25. It will be determined by that time if make-up days added to the June calendar will be early dismissal or full days of class."
