Lawrenceville Main Street To Host Summer Arts Fest 2021

The festival on June 12 will feature over 120 artists, crafters, and vendors, and will include local restaurants and food trucks.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – After more than a year of canceled events, get ready for a summer of fun in downtown Lawrenceville.

Lawrenceville Main Street is celebrating summer with its biggest and “most bodacious” art festival in its history —the Summer Arts Fest 2021.

To be held all across downtown Lawrenceville, the fest will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Rain date has been set for June 13.

“We all know what a rough 16 months it’s been, and we wanted to make sure we pulled out all the stops for our Summer Arts Fest,” Kelly Edelstein, the director of Lawrenceville Main Street, said in a statement.

“The past year-plus has been difficult for many small businesses and vendors like the ones featured in the Summer Arts Festival. This is our way of starting the process of rebuilding and reconnecting with the community we love."

The festival will feature over 120 artists, crafters, and vendors. It will extend from Weeden Park to Lawrenceville Elementary School and straight through to the Lawrenceville Fire Company. There will also be raffles and games at Craven Lane.

Local restaurants will also participate, and food trucks will be on-site. There will be musical acts and a tricky tray.

The Lawrence Fire Company and Lawrence Police will be there for a meet-and-greet and will also have their fire trucks and police cars on-site for children to enjoy.

The police department will also be debuting and demonstrating their newly donated set of four drones.

The Lawrenceville Elementary School will be participating with a “fill a bag” clothing and toy sale to support their PTO.

Additionally, a community-wide art project will ask residents to share what community means to them using their artistic skills. Their artwork will be showcased along Main Street.

The event is being sponsored by the Lawrenceville Home Improvement, Complete Health of Lawrenceville, Fred Gomberg-Realtor, Bank of Princeton, and the Lawrence Township Community Foundation.

Attendees can also look out for the community art installation, Windows of Hope 2021 from June 6 to July 16.

This will be Lawrenceville Main Street’s first “inside out” creative art exhibit.

The exhibit will feature contributors from all sectors of our community.

Earlier this month, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that fully vaccinated New Jerseyans can enjoy maskless outdoor gatherings and sports events.

Outdoor venues including those that can accommodate over 1,000 people, may reopen to full capacity starting May 28, Murphy said.

“Participants of our summer events can expect to see Lawrenceville Main Street alive and thriving this summer, as we fully embrace the ability to safely gather," Edelstein said.

"We are so grateful to the community, who supported our small businesses and kept Lawrenceville a great place to live, work and play.”
