Route 1 Reopens After Gas Main Break In Lawrence Township

Route 1 has completely reopened after a gas main break in Lawrence Township earlier in the day.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Route 1 has been reopened after a gas main break and gas leak in Lawrence Township earlier in the day. It had been closed following the break, but was mostly reopened after the main was initially repaired to the point where it was no longer leaking, police said.

It was completely reopened as of 3 p.m. after PSE&G completed repairs.

Route 1 was previously closed in both directions between Quaker Bridge Road in West Windsor Township and I-295 in Lawrence Township due to the gas main break, and there were major delays being reported. That is no longer the case.
