Lawrence Township Changes Brush Collection After Storm

Lawrence Township announced temporary changes to its brush collection after a severe thunderstorm came through the township Wednesday.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The brush collection requirements for zone pick-ups in Lawrence Township are being temporarily suspended after a severe thunderstorm came through the region Wednesday night, township officials announced.

Residents in all zones will be permitted to place yard waste at the curb for collection with the understanding that all items placed at the curb must meet the size limitations of the yard waste requirements outlined in the township's ordinance.

This means tree branches shall be no greater than six inches in diameter and no greater than three feet in length. No tree stumps will be collected. For the purposes of this special storm collection, the length of the yard waste pile will be increased to 25 feet for the next collection only, officials said.
