“Our goal of the Young Adult Advisory Council was to center and uplift young adult voices in our community. Our young adults who are already in the council care about our mission as much as we do," Danielle Scollins, Coordinator of Prevention and Community Education, said in a statement.
"It’s important for us as providers to take a step back, provide the information and see what they can do with it in a way that is more innovative than we could ever think of.”
Scollins is spearheading the group.
Also leading the group is Jada Lawrence-Galloway, Womanspace child specialist.
"The goal of the Young Adult Advisory Council is to ensure that the youth have a platform for their ideas and voices to be heard. As providers, we hope to empower and equip the youth to communicate about domestic violence and sexual assault," she said.
Those interested in applying can contact Scollins via email, des@womanspace.org.
