Residents can also register for Christmas Eve visit from Santa.

By Christopher Sheldon

The Little Silver Volunteer Fire Company is continuing its holiday traditions this year with its Christmas tree sale and Christmas Eve visit with Santa.

Members of the company, at 543 Prospect Ave., started setting up the lot for Christmas tree sales on Nov. 3 and will be ready to open on Saturday Nov. 30.

The fire company's wreath committee is currently creating wreaths and the first Christmas trees were scheduled be delivered today and Saturday, Nov. 23.

In addition to trees and wreaths, the company will also be selling roping, grave blankets and other holiday decorative items items. Proceeds will benefit the fire company.

The firefighters will also be taking Santa around on a fire truck on Christmas Eve this year.

Borough residents who would like Santa to stop by their home with presents on Dec. 24 can register online by clicking here.

There is no fee to sign up for the Santa visit, as the fire company is asking for a minimum donation of two non-perishable food items and a present they would like to have delivered to their child.

The canned food donations will be donated to the needy, and even some who are struggling after Hurricane Sandy. Those who cannot bring a canned food item can donate a toy.

Santa deliveries will begin at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will continue throughout the evening.
