Oceanport Man Stole $155K For Car, Vermont Property: Prosecutor
The man, who worked at a pain management center, used company money on bills that included his son's rent, the prosecutor said.
OCEANPORT, NJ — An Oceanport man was accused of stealing more than $150,000 from his former employer for personal expenses. William Donald's spending included his vehicle, his son's rent and bills on a property he owned in Vermont, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.
Donald, 61, worked as an office administrator for a pain management center in Wall. He was charged Tuesday with theft by unlawful taking and falsifying or tampering with records, authorities said. The MCPO didn't identify his employer.
The suspect misappropriated $155,577.12 from June 2016 until last February, the MCPO said. Donald opened a point of sale machine — an electronic device for processing card payments at retail locations — in his name.

He claimed he was the sole owner of the practice, according to authorities. The machine's funds came from the pain management center's bank account, the MCPO said.
If convicted, Donald faces five to 10 years in prison for second-degree theft by unlawful taking. He would face up to 18 months in prison if convicted of fourth-degree falsifying or tampering.
