The 20-year-old checked his numbers before sitting down to talk with his father about summer employment.

OCEANPORT, NJ — Kristopher Chrysanthopoulos dreaded discussing summer employment options with his father. The 20-year-old Oceanport resident had one way to procrastinate as they were about to discuss it over lunch: his Mega Millions tickets.
Chrysanthopoulos bought the tickets for the May 28 drawing. As they drove to lunch, he figured this was as good a time as any to check the tickets in his wallet. That's when the student noticed he matched five out of five white balls, missing only the Gold Mega Ball.
"Dad, I've got five numbers!" he shouted. Read more: $1 Million Winning Mega Millions Ticket In Monmouth County

They stopped the car and entered the nearest Lottery retailer they could find to check the prize. They found out Chrysanthopoulos won $1 million.
When Chrysanthopoulos's father first saw the numbers, he thought it was a prank. His son assured him the tickets were real.

Chrysanthopoulos said he would like to take his family on a trip and put the remainder in his savings. There's no word yet on whether he will still seek a summer job.
The student purchased the lucky ticket at The Mart on 590 Shrewsbury Ave., Tinton Falls. He bought the Mega Millions instead of his usual Scratch-Offs because the jackpot of $414 million caught his eye.
