2 Madison Girl Scouts Made A Little Diverse Library
Sisters Libby and Charlotte have collected more than 200 books, keeping it updated throughout Black History Month.

MADISON, NJ — Two Girl Scouts from Madison created a Little Diverse Library. Thanks to their efforts, Madison now has a collection of more than 200 books written by and about people of color.
Libby, 14, and Charlotte, 12, launched the library in October by the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, according to the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. They felt inspired by the Little Free Divers Libraries Project, which a New York City school counselor organized to amplify and empower Black voices.
Sisters Charlotte and Libby set up a book-donation drive at their local elementary school and reached out to publishers for contributions. They started the endeavor as part of their Silver Award project, but the work continues. They've received more than 200 books, which people can access for free, and continue to keep the little library stocked.
