Car Burglary Caught In The Act: Madison Police
Marvin J. Mixson tried to run from officers, police said.
MADISON, NJ - A 37-year-old Newark man was charged with burglaries after running from police on May 28, according to authorities.
Madison Police said that officers were dispatched to Seaman Street on the report of a man dressed in dark clothing burglarizing a resident’s vehicle. Upon arrival, Madison officers observed Marvin Mixson, who was fitting the description, now peering into an additional parked vehicle in a Kings Road driveway, police said.
Seeing officers, Mixson began to run east on Kings Road away from the residence and not listening to officers commands to stop, police said. After a brief foot chase, Mixson was apprehended by officers, police said.

During the investigation, Mixson was found to be in possession of a black bag containing approximately $1,000 of cash and various items in his possession that belonged to a Madison victim, police said.
Mixson was transported to headquarters and charged with third degree burglary, third degree theft, and obstructing the Administration of Law. Mixson was later transported to the Morris County Jail awaiting a Morris County Superior Court appearance, police said.
