'Lock Your Doors,' Police Warn After Recent Home Burglaries

Police also remind residents to not leave keys in an unattended vehicle.

Madison police on Thursday urged residents to lock their doors in light of home burglaries in the borough.

"Madison has been experiencing residential burglaries," police said in a Nixle alert. "Lock your doors, Lock garage, DO NOT leave keys in unattended vehicles."

Police previously reported a home was burglarized at the end of November, and that someone was spotted in an open garage.

On Nov. 30, a Noe Avenue resident reported their home was burglarized. Someone entered through a rear door, rifled through the house and took jewelry and silverware, police said.

On Nov. 27, someone was seen near a vehicle in an open garage and then fled on foot. Nothing was reported stolen in that incident.

The police department has not yet released information about any additional incidents. Messages seeking additional information were left with police Thursday.
