Dodgers Shut Out Newton to Make Playoffs

Madison High School's football team is headed to the playoffs.

The Dodgers beat Newton 36-0 Friday night on the road. A loss would have knocked them out of the running.

Madison scored all its points in the first half, starting with a 26-yard run by Pat Zimmerman and then a 4-yard run by David Luttinger in the first quarter, according to NJ.com.

In the second quarter, Christian Scarpello scored on a pass from Sam North, North scored on a 6-yard run, and Scarpello scored on a 40-yard run.

With Madison winning, and West Essex beating Barringer Friday, the Dodgers will be the No. 7 seed, NJ.com had said.
