UPDATED: Greenwood Ave., Kings Road Repairs Continue In Madison

Officials estimate the work to be completed and the roads reopened by 9 p.m.

MADISON, NJ - High winds have taken down a power line on King Road causing the closure of the road and a downed utility pole on Greenwood Avenue has officials asking residents stay away.

According to authorities, the King Road is closed in both directions between Cross Street and Samson Avenue. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area. Crews are on the scene at Greenwood Avenue for the downed pole and residents are being asked to steer clear of the place between Rosedale Avenue and Ridgedale Avenue.

Madison Electric Department is working on the downed lines due to a snapped utility pole and downed tree on Greenwood Avenue between John Marshall Lane and Ridgedale Avenue. Currently, Madison Electric Department estimates that the lines will be repaired and the roadway re-opened around 9 p.m. Madison Police Department has placed detours around the area, ahead of the evening rush-hour.
