Eco-Friendly Car Expo Rolling Into Madison For Earth Day

The latest EV models will be parked outside of Sunday Motor Co. Café.

MADISON, NJ — Madison will get in on the Earth Day celebration. An expo of environmentally friendly cars will take place from 2-5 p.m. April 22 outside the Sunday Motor Co. Café.

Local care dealers will showcase their latest EV models, and residents will share their experiences driving vehicles that include the Chevrolet Bolt, Honda Clarity, Tesla, Porsche Taycan, Karma, Volvo, BMW and VW ID.4.

Café owner Nick Vorderman partnered with the Environmental Commissions of Madison, Chatham Borough and Chatham Township for the event.

“I love cars. I love racing,” Vorderman said. “It’s clear to me that EVs are the future—no doubt about it." Vorderman noted that the technology is improving, and EV prices are going down.

Along with the eight vehicles on display at the expo, Hilltop Bicycles will show off an electric bike. The Madison Police Department will bring its 2020 Ford Hybrid Police Inceptor. The department has two hybrids in its fleet and will receive two more this year.

With the help of state grants, Madison has installed 10 EV charging stations. The Chathams plan to install additional charging stations.
