How Hot Was It In The Madison Area This Weekend?

There is relief in the forecast Monday, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday were scorchers.

MADISON, NJ - There may be a break in the heat wave on the horizon, but the last 72 hours have been burned into the memories of many residents as the temperatures soared into the triple digits.

So how hot did it get in the Madison area? Well according to the New Jersey Weather and Climate Network, pretty darn hot.

Friday

  • High Air Temperature: 93 degrees
  • Low Air Temperature: 68 degrees
  • Heat Index: 98 degrees

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning in most of the state since the heat index hit 112 in parts of New Jersey on Friday.

Saturday

  • High Air Temperature: 95 degrees
  • Low Air Temperature: 74 degrees
  • Heat Index: 101 degrees

The heat index, which combines the real temperature with the humidity level, hit 118 in Monmouth County.

Sunday

  • High Air Temperature: 96 degrees
  • Low Air Temperature: 75 degrees
  • Heat Index: 105 degrees

The National Weather Service excessive heat warning stayed in most of the state since the heat index hit 116 in parts of New Jersey on Sunday.
