How Madison Teacher Salaries Compare To The Rest Of Morris County

Madison Public School teachers made a median salary of about $71K, according to state data. Here's how that fares locally.

MADISON, NJ — Madison Public School teachers made a median salary of about $71,000 during the 2020 budget year, according to state education officials. But how does that compare to other local school districts?

The New Jersey Department of Education recently released its Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending, which shows the median teacher salary in each of the Garden State's school districts and charter schools.

The state Department of Education site also shows each district's total spending, average daily enrollment and students from sending districts, the per-pupil costs and the district's total budget spending for 2019 and 2020.

Madison teachers have a median salary of $71,473 — slightly higher than the state's median of $70,815. But the figure still represented a decrease from Madison's totals the previous year.
